Admissions

We like to encourage all prospective parents to come and have a look round our school, to get a feel for our school. We usually have an open day in the Autumn Term which you are welcome to attend. If you are unable to come to our open day, please contact the school office to arrange an alternative time to visit. We are always happy to show you round.

As a foundation school, our Governing Body acts as our admission authority. However, under the Pan London Agreement all admissions are now coordinated by the Local Authority. Our published admission number (PAN) for September 2023 and 2024 is 90. Where the number of applications exceed the number of available places, our over-subscription criteria is applied. Further details can be found in our Admission Policies at the bottom of this page.

If you live in the London Borough of Sutton, you will need to make your application online.  Please visit the London Borough of Sutton website at www.sutton.gov.uk/schooladmissions for full details of the application process. If you have any questions on the admissions process you may wish to contact the London Borough of Sutton Call Centre on 020 8770 6080.

You should also complete a Supplementary Information Form and return it to school:

  • If you are applying under the exceptional circumstances criterion.
  • If you are applying for your child to be admitted outside their year group.

The closing date for applying for entry into Junior school for September 2024 is 15 January 2024. London Borough of Sutton will notify parents of the outcome  on 16 April 2024.

STARTING IN YEAR 3

Once you have accepted a place at Stanley park Junior School  we will send you an admissions pack. This must be completed and returned to the school before your child starts at Stanley Park Juniors.

In order to make the transition from Infants to Junior school as smooth as possible, we have put the following arrangements in place:

  • Your child’s new teachers meet with the staff at the Infants school to discuss the children transferring and their individual needs.
  • Our year 3 staff attend assemblies at the Infants School, when they are introduced to the children.
  • Before the end of their time in year 2, the children come over to have a look around the school, and to attend one of our assemblies. They also spend some time with our year 3 children and staff.
  • The children will be given a special booklet to complete during the summer as part of the transfer process, which we ask parents to help them with.
  • Parents are usually invited to the school in the summer term to meet the Headteacher, Deputy, the SENCO (Special Educatioinal Needs Coordinator), the year 3 team, some Parent Governors and members of the PTA. The Headteacher will talk to you about teaching and learning at Stanley Park Juniors, and about the organisation of the school. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
  • If you would like the opportunity to tour the school, we have an open afternoon in July, where year 6 children will show parents around.
