Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Stanley Park Junior School we are committed to providing an inclusive education, where there is equality of opportunity and where all children are able to achieve their potential, including those identified as having a Special Educational Need and/or Disability. As a school we pride ourselves with our commitment to provide an all-round education which supports pupils’ academic and personal development.

The Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years 2014 sets out statutory guidance for organisations who work with and support children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities.

The Special Educational Needs Code of Practice 2014 identifies pupils with special educational needs if they have a learning difficulty which calls for special educational provision to be made for them. Children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) are those who have a learning, communication, physical, social, emotional or mental health difficulty, which prevents them achieving their educational goals, compared with the majority of their peers.

The link below will open the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Report which provides information about how children with special educational needs and disabilities are supported in our school.

The London Borough of Sutton has published a 'Local Offer' which sets out, in one place, information about provision available across education, health and social care for children and young people in Sutton who have special educational needs and/or are disabled.  Please click here to access the London Borough of Sutton Local Offer.
